The HIV Legal Network has released a helpful new guide: Know Your Rights: Accessing Healthcare Without Permanent Residence or Citizenship in Canada. It offers practical information for **migrants—including refugees, people with precarious status, and undocumented individuals—**on how to access healthcare across Canada, especially for those living with or affected by HIV.

Topics include:

  • The right to access healthcare in Canada
  • How the healthcare system works and eligibility for public coverage
  • Differences in access based on immigration status by province/territory
  • How accessing care may impact immigration status

This guide supports migrants, service providers, and advocates in understanding a complex system.
