Manitoba: Services and Supports for Newcomers with Temporary Immigration Status

The Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO) has 70+ member organizations across Manitoba that provide a range of settlement and integration services to newcomers. Many of these services are federally funded and eligibility is limited to permanent residents; however, some organizations have funding for services or programs to serve newcomers with temporary immigration status.

The following document will be updated regularly and contain information about MANSO Member’s services for newcomers with temporary immigration status – this includes refugee claimants, migrant workers (e.g. people here under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) or the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP)), international students, citizens with settlement and integration needs, and dependents of those with temporary status.

There are also supports and services for newcomers with temporary status offered by other community groups and organizations outside of MANSO membership. Members and the community are welcome to contact MANSO for input on other services available to newcomers with temporary status.

MANSO has also created a resource directory for Migrant Workers in Manitoba which can be found here: https://mansomanitoba.ca/resources/resource-directory-for-migrant-workers-in-manitoba/

About MANSO

The Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO) is an umbrella organization for immigrant and refugee service providers in the Province of Manitoba. MANSO provides leadership, support and a unified voice for the settlement and integration sector, including core settlement services, language training, employment services, and welcoming communities programs.

Our office is located on Treaty One Territory, the ancestral land of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak (Cree), Dakota, and on the homeland of the Métis. Our land acknowledgment is not fixed but living. It is fluid and open to change as we continue to learn.
