Sex Trafficking “It’s time to “T.A.L.K.” – The Canadian Centre to End Human Trafficking

The Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline is a confidential, multilingual service, operating 24/7 to connect victims and survivors with social services, law enforcement, and emergency services, as well as receive tips from the public.

Sex trafficking is a complex issue that often goes unnoticed by many Canadians, who may believe it only occurs in other countries to individuals they don’t know. However, the reality is that human trafficking is a widespread problem that touches every community in Canada, potentially affecting anyone, including your loved ones.

This document has been developed through extensive consultation with survivors of sex trafficking and aims to provide information and guidance, particularly for concerned family and friends, as they constitute a significant portion of those reaching out to the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline. Many within this group may not know how to respond if they suspect a loved one is being trafficked or is at risk of exploitation.

About MANSO

The Manitoba Association of Newcomer Serving Organizations (MANSO) is an umbrella organization for immigrant and refugee service providers in the Province of Manitoba. MANSO provides leadership, support and a unified voice for the settlement and integration sector, including core settlement services, language training, employment services, and welcoming communities programs.

Our office is located on Treaty One Territory, the ancestral land of the Anishinaabeg, Ininiwak (Cree), Dakota, and on the homeland of the Métis. Our land acknowledgment is not fixed but living. It is fluid and open to change as we continue to learn.
