Parenting School-Age and Adult Children
The Parenting Curriculum Guide was created to meet the needs of newcomer parents and
caregivers with a CLB 3 or higher. The hope is that by using the guide and resources your English
language classes will be able to address some of the issues that newcomers may have with
regards to parenting school age children and young adults in Canadian society.
The resources in the guide provide an opportunity for the teacher to facilitate interesting and
helpful discussions, opportunities for support, and information on Canadian social structures
to better help newcomer families guide their way through parenting young people in Canada.
