MANSO is very pleased to welcome the Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership (PVLIP) and Immigration Partnership Winnipeg (IPW) as new members in the “Friends of MANSO” category. This new category was launched in 2018 for organizations that aren’t eligible for full, voting membership, but would like to stay connected with the community of immigrant and refugee serving organizations. Friends of MANSO receive communications from MANSO, are invited to participate in most member events, and receive access to MANSO’s member portal and professional development workshops.
The Pembina Valley Local Immigration Partnership works to enhance collaboration, coordination and strategic planning at the community level that will foster more welcoming and inclusive communities while improving settlement and integration outcomes for newcomers in the Pembina Valley.
Immigration Partnership Winnipeg is responsible for engaging stakeholders, identifying needs and priorities and areas for action to support settlement and integration of newcomers in Winnipeg to help the city become a welcoming and inclusive multi-cultural city where everyone finds the support and opportunities to realize their best potential.
Manitoba’s LIPs play a key role in creating meaningful dialogues and connections between newcomers and Canadian citizens, including Indigenous peoples, and helping members of all communities to identify what they can do to support each other’s inclusion. The capacity of the whole sector to help newcomers on their integration journey will be increased by SPOs and LIPs working in partnership as members of MANSO.
