As an effort to introduce newcomers to surrounding communities outside of Winnipeg, Manitoba, the first edition of “Beyond the Perimeter” tour has been delivered. This is a group effort of MANSO and New Journey Housing, Portage Local Immigration Partnership, and Portage Learning and Literacy Centre.
On February 4, 2020, a group of 21 newcomers departure from Winnipeg and headed to Portage la Prairie on a Winnipeg Trolley Company’s bus. The group got to visit local employers, hospitals, schools, real estates, and other local hotspots in Portage.
The tour stopped at Stride Place for lunch.
