‘Maryam is a 13-year old Syrian refugee who survived the bombing of her home in the city of Idlib in 2015. She arrived in Winnipeg last year as a government-sponsored refugee… Despite all the challenges ahead for Maryam and her family, she said she’s happy and grateful to be in Canada. Maryam’s words, “I want to say thank you for, like, all the people that have helped us, and take care about us.”
