Using Plain Language Workshop AND Presentation Skills Workshop

January 25, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm

Morning (9:00am – 12:00pm): Using Plain Language Workshop

Join us for a hands-on workshop on developing Plain Language resources that are accessible to those with lower levels of English literacy.  Understand how you can apply plain language principles and clear design to your written documents (from posters to guidebooks), and collaborate with your peers on improving the accessibility of your materials.

This workshop is designed for staff of the settlement sector (settlement workers, language program coordinators, project coordinators, etc.) who develop written materials for clients.

Facilitators: Melissa Germain and Corrina Loewen

Afternoon (1:00pm – 4:00pm): Presentation Skills Workshop

Staff of settlement organizations often need to make educational presentations on their programs and/or the needs of their clients.  This workshop will assist participants in designing clear & dynamic presentations or workshops that take into account the needs of the target audience, and incorporate key adult education principles.

Facilitators: Jennifer Loewen (MITT) and Corrina Loewen (Altered Minds Inc.)

Registration:

MANSO is offering these workshops on a cost recovery basis.  Participants may register for either workshop (half-day) at a cost of $25, or for both workshops (full-day) at a cost of $50 (including lunch).  Contact Immaculate at i.nabisere@mansomanitoba.ca to register.

Accessibility Accommodations are available by advance request.
